Is something going on? I, uh... I don't think so. Not too much is new. I am very slowly beginning to rejoin the living.

I did want to mention some upcoming rock shows (I am lazy and will copy-and-paste what Tim wrote):

FRI 14 JUNE MILWAUKEE CACTUS CLUB W/CONSONANT, KADANE BROTHERS
SAT 15 JUNE CHICAGO ABBEY PUB * RECORD RELEASE * W/CONSONANT, KADANE BROTHERS

SAT 22 JUNE MINNEAPOLIS 7TH STREET ENTRY * TWO SHOWS--EARLY ALL AGES, LATE 21+ *

BOTH SHOWS W/VOLANTE

FRI 12 JULY BOSTON TBA W/CONSONANT, SATURNINE
SAT 13 JULY NYC KNITTING FACTORY W/CONSONANT, SATURNINE

consonant: clint conley (mission of burma), matt kadane (bedhead, new year), chris brokaw (come et al), winston braman (fuzzy)

kadane bros: matt and bubba (bedhead, new year, orange schubert)

Okay, looking over this list, I'm getting a little spark back. I've got a spring in my step now, motherfuckers! Look at this - Milwaukee, then Chicago, all with the fucking Kadanes? And I didn't know those Boston and NYC shows were with Saturnine, too! There are good times in my future. It's what I've been trying to tell myself, and now I know it's true.

More news as it arrives.

I keep trying to write about the final weekend at All Tomorrow's Parties, and I keep failing. It's fucking hard coming down from it, I'll tell you - it was so enjoyable, and life-affirming, and romantic, and foolish, just so much. Hedonism gets such a bad rap, but after this experience, I'm not so sure. Maybe when it's combined with...

Oh fuck it, I'll wait until I'm ready to write the whole thing. For now, we're back, the new record (Italian Platinum) has gradually started to rear its ugly head (a few folks bought prerelease copies in the UK, the chatter on the message board has been picking up), we're all sad to be living the slow life again, but we'll survive it. There are still excuses to go on... for instance, we're playing a show this Saturday, May 4th, at Headliners in Louisville, Kentucky. I don't know why the hell we're doing it - it's purely an excuse to carry on for Derby weekend, and we hardly need to carry on right now, as you know - but we're doing it nonetheless, opening up for a couple of local bands, so we start right around 10:00. If anyone's in town for the races, come down early; we'll be done around 11:00, and I, for one, will be eager to get loose.

Other than that: we have shows coming up in Minneapolis, and in Chicago, Milwaukee, Boston, and New York City. That's right - New York City. I will keep you posted with developments. Goodbye for now.

I've suggested many times that you go to the All Tomorrow's Parties festival, and I've mentioned that there are tickets available for next weekend's version. Well, good fucking shit, go! The first weekend was perfect, and I have no doubt the second weekend will be as good or better. Tickets are available; if you can rustle up $1,000, maybe less, maybe like $750, and now I know that's alot of money, I know it is! But if you can rustle up some money, and rustle Friday and Monday off of work, you would not regret going, and of course you would not regret at all not going, as you will have gone. As it is, you can only regret.

I know that you and I share similar values. Therefore, I know that those funny little thing that appear at the bottom of your screen when you roll your little pointer over a link are #1 in your heart. Well, nut-fuckers! Now you can make 'em yourself! Check out the message board! It's totally new fangled.

We'd better see you in England next week. We're practicing, lots. Which means we will be very, very good. There are other good bands on the bill, too. They are practicing, too! We are all expecting to see you there. There are still tickets for the second weekend available, and there are still steamers 'cross the ocean to be hopped. Tell me you haven't lost your sense of adventure! Come back, baby! Rock n' Roll never fergits! Look at fucking Mission of Burma! They're older than you are! Hell, they're older than me, and I'm fucking old! GO TO THE FUCKING FESTIVAL!!!

I know I have more to talk about... but for now, know that you can scroll down to the bottom of this page and see links that will let you look at EVERYTHING I HAVE EVER WRITTEN IN MY LIFE. This is the MOST IMPORTANT THING EVER.

I should also tell you: we're playing some shows, coming up pretty quick. I think some of you know about this. We're playing at All Tomorrow's Parties at Camber Sands Holiday Center (it's like Switzerland there) in East Sussex, UK. We're playing there twice: on Stage 1, Sunday April 21st at 8:30 PM; and on Stage 2, Saturday April 27th at 4:45 PM.

And not only that: we're also playing on Thursday, April 25th, at the Garage in London with Mission of Burma and Versus.

I don't think there's anything else to report... but... maybe... no. Nothing else. Chicago is proving to be not so bad as I'd expected. I thought I was going to be bobbing in the lake by now, but it's going alright.

Much more later. I'll try to keep up while we're at the festival, but God knows I am going to be a mess the whole week, so don't hold me to it.
