Hey.

My fave SanFran record store (brick 'n' mortar & online) has a weekly "New Arrivals" list, very informative and wide-ranging. So they got in a Comsat Angels retrospective and began the review like so:

COMSAT ANGELS It's History (Nano ) 4cd 27.00
Our first experience with the Comsat Angels was on an old old Silkworm record. Silkworm covered the Angels' brilliant "Our Secret" and it immediately became out favorite song on the record. And of course hearing that cover sent us on a mad quest to find some actual Comsat Angels records...

Just thought y'all might get a kick outta it.

cool stuff indeed. thanks. i note that their description of "history" ends w/ the ff:

"Packaged in a weird (but kind of cool) plastic DVD style case, and pressed on black cds (which we originally assumed to be cd-r's but have been assured that they are indeed cds) and limited to 2000 copies worldwide, so we're not sure how long we'll have these and how many more we'll be able to get!"

it brings up the question again whether or not this release is a bootleg, since someone on the board earlier mentioned the black CDr's as being proof that this ain't legit nor sanctioned by the band.

earlier in the year, i stumbled on a new band from portland called, Green Circles. they have that brooding comsats, sound, joy division, josef k post-punk aesthetic without sounding too derivative and unoriginal. if that's yer thing, they recently signed to luminal records (the Prids) but their three self-released mini-disc eps sell on ebay for dirt cheap. imho, loads better than franz ferdinand.
