Jesus.
What the fuck do ya say at a time like this. Tim, Andy, Vicki, Joel, and everyone who was close to Michael, friends, family, coworkers, all the people that Michael touched worldwide, I wish I could be there to give you all big hugs. Please accept my condolences and know that Karla and I are thinkin' about all of you.
Let us know if there's anything we can do for ya, and please keep us informed about any memorials that can be made or the plans of his family.
I never knew Michael all that well, and that's a regret I hope to at least learn from, cuz he was a treasure.
When ya gather at Electrical, someone raise a glass and flirt with a pretty girl for me, in memory of Michael.

p.s. May I suggest a fitting memorial might be a gift of drumsticks, heads or just plain old fashioned money to the strapped-for-cash school nearest. Here in New Orleans at least it would be appreciated and used.
